Going Green

On May 18th my lovely cousin Caris got married to her high school sweetheart. It was one of the most beautiful ceremonies I have seen and the Pastor who married them (who just happened to be her father and my uncle) gave a fantastic message about marriage and how you have to work at it even on the hard days don't just quit!
This wedding was also extra special for me because it was the first time I had seen most of my cousins in at least two years. Which if you ask me that is waaaaayyy too long, but since I can't drive that sort of makes the whole seeing them more often kind of impossible. But, anyway I had such a great time. My aunt and uncle were gracious enough to bring me with them on their long trek to PA. I was so thankful for that!!! I enjoyed every minute that I got to spend with my family.... even though I was missing my parents and grandma who were unfortunately unable to attend. The reception was one of the most memorable parts I danced the night away... literally when I got back to my hotel I was out as soon as my head hit my pillow. I had two fantastic dance partners who just happened to be my cousins who are both single so ladies out there if you are interested just send me a text or a Facebook message ;)
I also got to meet some new people. I met some of the groom's side of the family and they were also gracious enough to let the out-of-town family join in the rehearsal dinner festivities. I also got to me my other cousin's girlfriend. She is the one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Personally, I am hoping for another wedding soon. (hint, hint)
Okay so enough of this writing stuff time for some pictures!!!

Oh I also failed to mention why this post was called Going Green... whoops! My cousin Caris married Brian GREEN so I thought it was fitting because that's what everything is about GOING GREEN so Caris took it literally ;)

Once Upon a Time I wrote a Poem

In I believe it was December my English teacher wanted to get to know her students better and needed to see how great out writing skills were so she told us we had to write a poem. We had four different prompts to choose from and could write about basically anything we wanted to... The prompt that stuck out the most to me was called I believe... I thought to myself I could possibly get people thinking with this poem and have never really done anything I guess you could say to "offended" (for a lack of a better term) other people beliefs with my word and what I believe is right. So here is my poem that I am finally going to share with you.

I believe...
I believe in the Bible and the truths it holds
The satisfaction of Christ
The church and what it stands for
The importance of religion, faith, friends, and family

But the belief that material things will satisfy a person is unfortunate

I believe in giving everyone a second chance
I believe in the sanctity of life
I believe in equality,
Honor, Respect, and Freedom
And I believe in the saying don't judge a book by its cover

I hope you enjoyed my poem :) It is probably one of the best poems I have ever written because I actually wanted to write it and didn't feel like it was one of those stupid assignments to keep me busy. Also, I haven't written a large amount of poems for that matter.

Reflecting on 2012

So I am aware I am a little late with my "reflecting on the past year post" however, I have been kind busy lately. Anyway as far as I can remember this might have been the most challenging  yet most rewarding year yet unless you count the year I was born....

Last year I got 2 new family members, which was pretty awesome because I absolutely adore babies. I can't wait to watch them grow up and all the fun things that come with being able to watch them and then send them home when they get grumpy.

Last year I took driver's ed and began driving which is kind of a scary thought( I am taking my second and final segment in less than a month) Driving presents it's new challenges and is not like Mario kart in case you were wondering. I enjoy having the ability to go places and I am not gonna lie, but sometimes it is cool to drive my parents around, unless they tell me to do it all of the time.

2012 was also the year of realizations. The year I realized that being fake was not cool, the year I realized I need friends who are going to encourage and help me,  not friends who will plant evil ideas in my mind, who don't want the best for me and will forget me after high school.

Summer was by far my favorite part of 2012. Now your probably saying what teenager doesn't love summer? I know that makes 100% sense, but I made some great lasting friendships at Sonshine and at Renew. I also experienced new things and spent some time away from home.

S.C.H.O.O.L (Seven Crappy Hours Of Our Lives)

Exam time is fast approaching my life. That can be a good and a bad thing. For instance the whole cramming for exams is not cool, but it also give a sense of winding down and being way closer to (can you believe it) SUMMER!!! This trimester has been one of the hardest trimesters I have ever hard. I had 3 core classes and one of them included Geometry.... I despise geometry with a passion, it has been the hardest math course I have ever had. I am also in a Family Living class that class has been very helpful and even though I thought it would be one of those blow off classes it has proved to be quite helpful and will continue to be helpful in the future. I have already planned my wedding to the one and only Ryan Gosling at the Toledo Zoo, now even though it wasn't completely accurate, I mean who gets married at the Zoo the lions would totally be creepin', anyway it proved to show that planning a wedding is difficult and I realized that I should just elope... weddings are too expensive!! My life has been wrapped around school (maybe a little too much) this trimester and I could not imagine playing a sport!
Anyway I decided to make this post because most of my teachers have been whining about not being able to finish the curriculum this marking period because of the snow days, let the record show we have had 3 snow days to date and this is the longest trimester. Now it doesn't take a math wizard to figure that we should be right on track, but whatever. I personally have enjoyed these snow days as they are a nice breather from people at school and also homework and I have had it up to my ears.
I cannot wait for Spring Break!! I am beginning to have the dragging feeling and have almost missed the bus a few times in these last couple weeks. WHOOPS :( School is just not as interesting as it used to be, but I will continue to plug away at it and pray for guidance and wisdom to get through this dragging time.

One of my teacher's showed this cute little video at the beginning of on of my classes. I love it so much that I thought I would share it with you :) Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
